I just wanted you to know that I participated in British Car Week 2011. I have two Triumphs and I drove them to work last week, two days for each car. I did not go to work on Monday, so I had four days. There was a slight chance of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday so I drove my 1966 Triumph 2000 Mk1. The weather was clear for Thursday and Friday, so I drove my 1977 Triumph Spitfire, top down of course. I enjoyed the drive and the interesting looks that some people showed when seeing my cars. My office has a birthday party once a month for those whose birthdays are in that month and we take turns buying the cake and ice cream. This was my turn to get the ice cream so I had to go to the store on my lunch break. One of the employees taking his break outside saw me drive up in the Triumph 2000 and asked me about it. Even though he is much younger than me, he likes older cars and was more familiar with the racing activities than I am.
Earlier in May was the 12th Annual European Car Show in my area at the National Museum of Naval Aviation, NAS Pensacola, FL. My Triumph 2000 was used as it was intended on that day since it was made as the "Family Triumph". I brought my wife and kids with me to the museum. The kids played on the child exhibits while I chatted with show participants. Then we had lunch at the cafe and toured a new part of the museum where they have a plane of the type I worked with when I was in the Navy. Pictures of my cars are on my personal website. Pictures of the European show and other club events are on my club's website:
