The solid alloy thrust washers are available on a made-to-order custom basis. For Triumph TR250/TR6/GT6/Vitesse/Spitfire/Herald and certain TVR models that used the TR6 engine, you will need to order the correct thickness dimension required to provide your engine with the desired minimal crankshaft end float dimension.

In most cases, you will only need to order one solid alloy thrust washer for your engine. The thrust washer on the opposite side (front side of bearing journal) generally does not wear, so it can possibly be reused. But it should be inspected none the less. The function of the front thrust washer is to keep the crankshaft from moving in that direction. If you do replace the front thrust washer, be sure to use one of the same thickness dimension that it replaces.

The end float travel is determined by the width of the rear thrust washer. It is important to adjust the thickness of this thrust washer to provide you with minimal end float travel.

The price for each washer is $20 (includes shipping & handling). Other design configurations are available upon request.

These special solid bronze alloy thrust washers are not manufactured using Oilite type material. They are manufactured using a researched bearing bronze that has been tested and determined to be the best known material for this application.

The purpose of this thrust washer is to provide Triumph owners with a superior solid alloy thrust washer that replaces the thin plated steel version that was originally installed in the engine of these cars. The original steel thrust washer has proven to be a time bomb (so to speak), potentially causing extensive engine damage among these aging automobiles.

Even though this thrust washer is superior to the original, regular crankshaft end float checks should continue to be a part of regular maintenance.
